Influencer divides fans over ‘stunning’ wedding dress: ‘I would politely ask her to change clothes or leave’

Tahlia Skaines, 29, an Australian influencer who has amassed over 800,000 followers online, has caused a stir for her wedding guest outfit.

The 29-year-old recently shared a series of photos online of herself in a cream dress with a plunging neckline at someone else’s wedding.

She captioned the photos: “A beautiful day to celebrate love.”

Her fans were looking at the look in her comments section.

“Nice,” praised one.

“Amazing”, wrote another.

“Wow,” someone admired.

Further, however, debate has erupted over the racy look, with someone sharing her photos in a Facebook group and asking if anyone else thought the look was a bit “over the top”.

Online, people were divided on the dress.

Some argued that the non-traditional look was normal now, and if she looked “hot” and the bride didn’t mind, then who cares?

But others thought the outfit was too uncomfortable to wear to someone else’s wedding.

“I would politely ask her to change her clothes or leave,” claimed one.

Another claimed he broke the number one rule of attending a wedding: don’t “raise” the bride.

Someone else claimed the dress was “clingy” and made it look like she was trying to compete with the bride, and another claimed Skaines should have “attention”.

What people choose to wear to other people’s weddings is an absolutely hot topic at the moment and always seems to spark heated debate.

Last week, influencer Isabella Mathers caused a stir among her followers by wearing a wedding dress to her father’s wedding.

The Austrian influencer, who has over a million followers, clarified that although the dress looked white, it was baby pink.

It was a non-traditional event and the bride wore a floral number, meaning Mathers’ outfit looked more bridal than bridal.

She looked gorgeous in a satin and lace gown by designer Danielle Guizio. She has posted a series of photos on Instagram to show off her outfit.

She teamed the slim number with some nude heels and her partner, Harri Musumeci, matched it with a white linen shirt, cream pants and sneakers. Mathers referred to him as “my date forever.”

The wedding festivities unfolded quietly, and in a backyard, and quite poignantly, Mathers documented the day.

Suspecting that criticism might come her way, Mathers explained why she chose to wear the designer dress.

“Before anyone has anything to say about my outfit, it wasn’t a traditional wedding. There was no dress code and my father’s partner wore a floral dress. Half of the guests were dressed in white,” she wrote.
